Holy Mass

is not being celebrated in public for the foreseeable future due to the coronavirus. Mass is being offered in private and Mass intentions are still being received.

The Bishop’s conference of England and Wales would also like people to know:

‘… that in these emergency circumstances, and for as long as they last, the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days is removed. This is, without doubt, the teaching of the Church (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2181). This pandemic is the ‘serious reason’ why this obligation does not apply at this time.’

Our own bishop, Bishop Drainey, has also issued a pastoral letter which is available to read here: Bishop Terry’s Letter

This is new territory for all of us. We keep each other and the whole earth in prayer; especially the sick and those on their own. Updates and information will be placed here as and when they are available.
