Churches Opening

Wednesday, 01 Jul

Dear Parishioners

I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying some of the loosening of restrictions that have occurred of late. I think the old adage of ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder’ certainly applies, especially in regard to family and friends.

Perhaps you have heard that from Saturday 4th July, ie this Saturday, churches can open for public worship once more. So, from Saturday, our usual Mass Times will apply:

  • (Vigil for Sunday) Saturday 4pm at Withernsea
  • (Vigil for Sunday) on Saturday 6.30pm at Hedon
  • Sunday 10am at Saint Charles
  • Sunday 6.30pm at Saint Charles
  • Mon-Sat 12.10pm at Saint Charles (with Holy Hour and Rosary before hand)

Please note that the Sunday obligation still does not apply for the time being.

As mentioned previously, Mass from Saint Charles everyday is being broadcast live on our Facebook page with the recording being placed on YouTube immediately afterwards. So if you are still self-isolating the option for joining us online is there. (links at the bottom of the page)

There will be various social distancing and safety requirements in place and obviously the usual sanitisation of hands upon entrance and exit. Please follow the advice of the stewards who are there to guide you.

For those of you who are going to come to Mass, I look forward to seeing you once again – it has been a while!

All blessings,

Fr James
